Welcome to the Thai Burma Civic Project
The Thai Burma Civic Project is a nonprofit organization seeking to improve the lives of the refugees and internally displaced persons living along the border of Thailand and Burma.
The country of Burma has been nicknamed Southeast Asia’s Darfur due to a prolonged civil war between Burma’s military junta and its persecution of the ethnic minorities living within the country.
Over 3,000 villages have been destroyed or forcibly relocated by the Burmese SPDC since 1984, causing a migration of over 2,000,000 people into neighboring countries, as well as an estimated 1,000,000 people living in fear within the jungle, refugee camps, and displaced villages alongside the border.
The Thai Burma Civic Project aims to provide assistance to the displaced persons of Burma, based on the needs of the affected villagers.
Thank you to all of our donors for supporting our work.
